Adjustment of the emergency brake

Details of an adjusting element

And – exact adjustment;
In – rough adjustment;

With – an adjusting nut;
D – the fixing collar.

The adjusting mechanism (1) with the fixing collar (2) is in covers of cables of the emergency brake before the back bridge.

The main brake cylinder to some extent is a basic element in the brake system. It settles down behind at the left in a motive compartment and gives to brake supports a signal to begin braking. You will find more detailed information concerning its device and functioning in the beginning of this chapter.

Dismantle of the main brake cylinder

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Suck away brake fluid from a tank, for this purpose take out a strainer from a jellied branch pipe.
  2. Disconnect the socket of the alarm indicator of level of brake fluid from a tank, the same concerns a coupling cylinder wire.
  3. Take out a tank from the main brake cylinder.
  4. Dismantle a vacuum hose of the brake amplifier.
  5. Mark brake hoses on the main brake cylinder for the subsequent installation and unscrew them.
  6. Unscrew both fixing nuts (not bolts of TORX) behind on the main brake cylinder.
  7. Carefully and without bending, take out the main brake cylinder from the brake amplifier.
  8. At assembly put a new sealing ring between the brake amplifier and the main brake cylinder.
  9. Carefully put the main brake cylinder on the brake amplifier. If it is necessary, then let the assistant will carefully press a brake pedal in order that it was easier to pull the main brake cylinder on press a rod.
  10. Tighten fixing nuts on 50 Nanometers.
  11. Tighten brake hoses on 15 Nanometers.
  12. Before the broad tank is pressed, moisten with brake fluid a sealing stopper of a connecting branch pipe of a broad tank from within.
  13. Pump over the brake system.
  14. If it is necessary, pump over hydraulic system of coupling.
