Coupling functioning

Transfers of force from the engine to the transmission it is carried out due to coupling. It works only due to friction, and it can be imagined as follows: two adjacent surfaces clamp a third and hold it with such force that it has to rotate together with them. The main thing is that this connection can be broken off at any time, otherwise both details could be screwed together with each other. Let's call these details: the flywheel and press a disk under spring loading is constantly connected to the engine. Between them the conducted disk which is constantly connected to a transmission shaft is clamped.

Other important function is performed by the release bearing: when pressing a coupling pedal by means of coupling actuating it nestles on a press disk and to some extent assumes force of a spring of a press disk. As a result of it the conducted disk is released from the compulsory situation and can freely rotate between a press disk and a flywheel. The power stream from the engine to the transmission is interrupted.

If the pedal is again released, then the dish-shaped spring of a press disk presses the conducted disk to a flywheel, the free movement of disks disappears. All three details represent strong power connection. The power stream can be transferred from the engine to the drive.
