Installation and dismantle of the engine

In a workshop the engine is dismantled by means of such lifting device. For these purposes the head of the block of cylinders has fixing eyes to which, certainly, chains or cables can be attached. Before it is taken out, a frontal part of the car has to be dismantled and all shtekerny and screw connections are disconnected. |

On the dismantled engine the so-called intercepting device (1) which is combined with an arm (2) transmissions is visible. The sense of it is in propping up the transmission which at the dismantled engine differently could fail down. Certainly, the same effect can achieve if to prop up it from below. |
The description of dismantle of engines of all models would go beyond opportunities of this management. Here only some essential moments concerning this subject are given:

- The engine rises without transmission up. For this purpose you need a polyspast which you could suspend reliably at sufficient height. Also "previously loaded assistant" is useful.
- Before direct dismantle remove all disturbing car details: lower facing of the engine, case of the air filter, and also frontal part of the car assembled. If is, dismantle the viscous fan.
- As in Audi A4 the set of electric wires and vacuum hoses is established, you have to designate first of all all these wires and hoses in order that then it is correct to connect them in the right place.
- Before an accumulator detachment you have to be convinced that you have a code against theft of the radio receiver.
- Disconnect the accumulator only at the switched-off ignition, otherwise it is possible to damage control units.
- Before a final detachment of the engine it is necessary to prop up the transmission or to raise it together with even the installed engine a little. For these purposes in a workshop the special tool which rests against fixing edges of wings is used.
- The engine has an eye for suspension into which the lifting device can be inserted. Track reliability of fastening.
