The gulf of liquid for washing of glasses

Constant control

The remains of exhaust gases, vapors of oil and silicone from means for care of the varnished surfaces persistently settle on glass. Therefore in warm season it is recommended for washing of glasses to add cleaner to water; in the winter antifreeze with detergent addition approaches.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

The branch pipe for the gulf of liquid is in all models at the left in a motive compartment on a sidewall, but tanks have the different forms and the sizes depending on the engine and a complete set.
In cars without system of washing of glasses of headlights the tank with liquid for washing of glasses has volume about 3,5 l.
The tank with a capacity about 6,5 l is installed in cars with system for washing of glasses of headlights.
The tank from two parts is installed in cars with the turbo engine and system of washing of glasses for the sake of economy of the place. One tank settles down – as in all models – under a wing, hidden in a wheel niche. The second tank settles down precisely opposite inside in a motive compartment.
In the beginning pour additive and then water in order that liquids in a tank well mixed up.
In the car without the warmed water sprays (are available in "a winter package") sprays can freeze through at a hard frost.
For prevention it is recommended to use higher concentration of antifreeze. Admixture of denatured alcohol in combination with antifreeze can lead to formation of flakes and to a blockage snuffled sprays.
Not to allow a blockage snuffled sprays liquid for washing of glasses, it is recommended to install in a liquid supply hose the filter which is available on sale for gasoline.

Councils: You should not fill in water for washing of glasses from flasks with water, often at stand-by at gas stations since there the remains of oil and lubricant which then will appear on your windshield often meet and during a rain will create the disturbing lubricant film in the field of work of screen wipers.

If the field of the review on a windshield, despite additive in water of detergents, remains muddy, then old familiar means for cleaning of Sidol brass will help (but not "Sidol Spezial"). It is put with a rag and has to dry up, and then white dust is removed by a pure rag. In such a way reliably the remains of oil, means for care of a varnish and other substances are removed.

Adjustment of a water stream

At activization of system of washing of glasses on a windshield of Audi A4 four water streams are splashed out. Adjustment is carried out as follows:

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Insert a needle into an opening распыл. nozzles.
The opening of a nozzle is placed in a ball which turns by means of a needle.
Turn a nozzle until streams of water do not fall on a windshield as it is shown in the drawing.

Water nozzles with an electrical heating

Despite antifreeze admixture, liquid for washing of glasses can freeze in forward raspylitelny nozzles because of a head wind. From it the device for heating helps snuffled, available in "a winter package".

Directly before nozzles there is a metal case with a temperature and dependent heating resistance. At inclusion of ignition (plug X) on this resistance tension arrives. Nozzles quickly thaw at a frost at the expense of initial current of big force (0,5-0,7 A). For maintenance of temperature current after a phase of warming up falls approximately to 200 мА. If air temperature falls below -15 °C, then current of support of temperature raises to 320 мА.

Search of malfunctions

If heating of water snuffled does not function, then check the following knots:

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Having opened a cowl, disconnect the shtekerny socket of a nozzle.
Tension indicator at the included ignition check whether there is tension or whether as it should be connection with weight.
If is not present, then find a gap in a wire.
If with giving of tension everything is all right, then it is necessary to replace a nozzle.
