Indicator of amount of fuel

On the control panel the level of fuel is shown an electric way.

The deviation of an arrow of the indicator of amount of fuel changes by means of contact with weight. It is provided with the fuel level sensor which depending on filling of the fuel tank has higher or low resistance. Giving of tension and preparation of a signal for the fuel level sensor is provided with the central microprocessor of the combined device. Information on dismantle of the fuel level sensor you will find the Fuel tank and the fuel pump in the head.

Violations in operation of the indicator of amount of fuel

  • The raised or lowered indications: the float of the fuel level sensor is incorrectly established (see the following section), or are not established the amendment (V.A.G 1551).
  • There are no indications: the arriving tension out of the range of the combined device, either the level sensor, or the indicator are faulty.

The indicator of amount of fuel or the fuel level sensor is faulty?

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Bare sockets of wires of the fuel level sensor (the head the Fuel tank and the fuel pump), disconnect the mnogoshtyrkovy socket.
  2. Connect an auxiliary wire to the socket of a violet/black wire and apply directly to weight.
  3. For a short time include ignition.
  4. If the arrow of the indicator deviates completely, then the wire as it should be bringing and the indicator. Then the fuel level sensor remains a cause of defect.
  5. If the arrow remains in situation "is empty", then malfunction in the bringing wire, in a wire of the combined device or the indicator of amount of fuel. Fuel level sensor probably as it should be.

Check and adjustment of the indicator of fuel

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Bare sockets of wires of the fuel level sensor.
  2. Disconnect the socket and measure by an ohmmeter resistance on the socket of the fuel level sensor:
  3. Buck is stout: 40 Ohms.
  4. Buck is stout half: 115 Ohms.
  5. Tank reserve: 250 Ohms.
  6. If the received results of measurement completely differ from set, then: the fuel level sensor is faulty.
  7. If results of measurement as it should be, but indications of the indicator of amount of fuel have a big error or not indications, then: there is no conductivity or the device is faulty.
  8. Results of measurements are close or the indicator is inexact: the float of the fuel level sensor is incorrectly adjusted.
  9. Installation of a float of the fuel level sensor: it is work for a workshop which can carry out adjustment by means of the device for reading of errors of V.A.G 1551. In certain borders it is possible to make the following:
  10. Dismantle the fuel level sensor.
  11. If the indicator of amount of fuel overestimates data, then: slightly turn in the float lever up.
  12. If the indicator of amount of fuel underestimates data, then: slightly turn in the float lever down.
