Replacement of engine oil and oil filter
|
Carving stopper of a masloslivny opening (3) – in the photo the six-cylinder engine is shown – becomes available only after dismantle of the lower facing of a motive compartment. For its unscrewing the most suitable tool is the cap key. It is the best of all to unscrew an oil filter (1) a tape key (on an arrow). Further in the photo are shown the oil heater on which cooling liquid (2) flows. |

- Change oil only at the warm engine! Therefore, whenever possible, do a bit of traveling on the car.
- Raise Audi A4 horizontally (put an emphasis!) or establish it on a ramp.
- Dismantle the lower cover of a motive compartment.
- Put suitable capacity under an engine case.
- Turn off a cap key a carving stopper of a drain opening; let's flow down to oil. Be careful, it is hotter.
- If you raised the car only in front, then to merge the fulfilled oil completely, it needs to be merged once again. Track at the same time not to damage or to overturn reception capacity.
- Put reception capacity under an oil filter.
- Weaken an oil filter a tape key. If the filter sits very strongly, then pierce its metal case the sharp screw-driver (be careful, hot oil follows) and unscrew the filter by means of the screw-driver.
- Slightly grease with component lubricant a sealing ring of a new oil filter.
- Do not use for this purpose lubricant oil as at visual survey it can be mistakenly accepted for the following engine oil.
- Strong screw up the filter manually, without using any tools.
- Wipe clean a screw stopper of a drain opening and screw up with a new sealing ring; but it is not too strong, otherwise damage the directing carving on a case.
- Fill in oil (see the table).
- Start the engine, check tightness of oil.
